Seductive Southern Italy, for a romantic Italian road trip

Romance and Italy go together like mozzarella and tomatoes, which makes our sweeping adventure along the country’s west and east coasts a perfect itinerary for travelling couples. We’ll start off by falling in love with the street food of Naples – Sfogliatella, aubergine parmigiana and pizza (of course) – before driving south along the sumptuous Amalfi Coast. Stop off for gelato in quaint seaside towns, spend an afternoon sunbathing on the beach and go on a cruise along the coastline. Then it’s time to head east, stopping off at the ancient town of Matera and cycling through the vineyards of the Itria Valley before reaching the sea once more. We’ll bask in the beauty of Polignano a Mare’s beaches, sample Puglian olive oil and explore a range of charming towns and cities along the east coast, ending in Lecce, the Florence of the South.

Happy young honeymoon couple walking on the beach on Bali island, Indonesia.

Blissful Bali, for waterfalls, beaches and sunrise mountain views

If you’re after something more immersive then book your place on our 12-day Bali extravaganza – the ultimate retreat for couples in search of an escape. Our trip blends the region’s overwhelming natural beauty with the unique cultures of local communities. You’ll embrace Balinese tradition by making your own sacred offering to place at Batukaru Temple, before embarking on a rural village trek through hillside rice paddies. From there you’ll get to splash about together in Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, try FlyHigh yoga and master the local cuisine with a Balinese cooking class. On day five you’ll make memories for life as we hike Mount Batur at sunrise, gazing in awe at the beauty of Bali in its best light at the top. Then we’ll go for a mini island retreat in Gili Trawangan. Here you’ll barbecue on the beach, snorkel with sea turtles and kick back at our gorgeous island resort. Having thoroughly detoxed at the hotel spa and made the most of the stunning infinity pool, not to mention pristine island beaches nearby, we’ll return to Bali for a traditional Balinese blessing ceremony, the perfect way to cap off a truly special couple retreat.

Two people toasting with red wine

Splendid South Africa, for wine tasting and wildlife spotting

The beauty of South Africa is that you can enjoy the finer things in life while also having culturally enriching experiences and basking in the beauty of natural phenomena. You’ll get to do all of the above on this trip, starting with a tour of Cape Town’s melting pot of communities and neighbourhoods. You’ll ascend Table Mountain by cable car and go kayaking together with the penguins in Simons Town. Wine-loving couples will be obsessed with the Stellenbosch region, which we explore via the adorable Franschhoek wine tram, picking us up and dropping us off at some of the best vineyards in the country – don’t worry, tasting sessions will be arranged. From there you’ll be whisked to the gorgeous seaside town of Knysna and guided through the stunning trails of Tsitsikamma National Park. The trip comes to a dreamy climax at the majestic Gondwana Game Reserve, where we’ll spend two nights living the life of luxury in a spectacular wildlife lodge. Spot the Big Five on up to four game drives, book a picnic with a view or simply chill in the infinity pool – if you wait long enough, local elephants may pop by to join you, as long as you don’t mind a third wheel!

Volcanic Iceland, for memory-making moments like no other

Those who say that marriage is the adventure of a lifetime clearly haven’t been on our epic Iceland trip. Couples who love to get each other’s pulses racing will fall head over heels for this high-octane tour of the Land of Fire and Ice. You’ll be walking behind thundering volcanic glaciers, trekking across otherworldly icy glaciers and whizzing across endless white landscapes on the back of a speeding snowmobile. We’ll make sure the wind-down activities are just as special, be it by soaking in natural hot springs, gorging on geothermally baked bread or making a last-minute visit to the milky waters of the Blue Lagoon. With a bit of luck you might even get to experience the Northern Lights in full flow – not a bad time to propose, right?

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
