South Korea, to have fresh fish cooked in front of you

Seafood is an integral part of South Korean cuisine, featuring in dishes such as haemul pajeon (crispy seafood pancakes), kimchi jjigae (a fiery kimchi stew) and ganjang gejang (soy-marinated crab). Head to Jagalchi Market in Busan and you’ll feel like you’ve arrived at an edible aquarium, such is the sheer variety on offer. Feeling peckish? Pick your catch and bring it upstairs to have it cooked for you in the local style. It’s one of many captivating, hunger-quelling stops on this 10-day adventure.

Iceland, for venturing beyond your comfort zone

If you love seafood, you’ll be in your element in Iceland, where fresh fish is about as common as running water – whether it be cod, salmon, haddock or Arctic char. For a proper authentic experience, however – and to really test your love of seafood – try hákarl (fermented shark) and harðfiskur (dried fish). On this five-day trip, you’ll be given the opportunity to do so, but be warned – neither are renowned for their mouth-watering aroma. A shot of brennivín (Iceland’s signature spirit) is the ideal palate cleanser – before and after.

Croatia, for freshly caught oysters

Join us for eight days of seaside bliss along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast and you’ll dine like a king. Whether it’s the old towns of Split and Dubrovnik, or remote islands and rural wine regions, seafood always plays a big part in Croatian culture. The foodie highlight of our itinerary takes place in the small town of Ston on the Peljesac Peninsula. This place is famous for its oysters, and you’ll get to slurp down a batch fresh from the sea, before continuing on to Dubrovnik.

You can sample some of the local delicacies – from deep-fried whitebait and fisherman’s soup to lobster pasta, grilled octopus and the best calamari you ever had – across our eight-day island-hopping adventure from Athens to Milos, Naxos and Santorini.
