Rataskaevu 16

Pumpkin cream soup with seeds

Rataskaevu 16 simply has good local food and great service. Their pumpkin soup is stellar, and for meat-eaters, the soup should be followed by their elk roast. Their chocolate fondant sprinkled with lime would compliment such an amazing meal. End your dining experience with a perfectly foamy cappuccino. Rataskaevu 16 is also a top pick for families as it has a children’s play area.

Olde Hansa can be found right in the old town square and has a medieval atmosphere which is lit by candlelight, and the staff wear period clothing. Portions at Olde Hansa are very generous, so diners with a light appetite might consider sharing a dish. Menu items include elk with bulgar, lamb cooked with figs, and large sausage plates which are great for sharing. A perfect accompaniment to the meal is a large mug of beer.

F-Hoone

Located in the alternative Telliskivi Creative City, F-Hoone is a highly-rated restaurant, serving creative dishes in a cool industrial atmosphere. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are numerous gluten-free and vegetarian dishes such as a parmesan and cauliflower cutlet, and pumpkin and chickpea falafel. There is also a wide selection of gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan dessert options.

Kohvik Moon

Located in the hip Kalamaja district, Kohvik Moon serves modern Russian cuisine. On the menu is a delicious soup and dumplings section with borscht, fish soup, and Siberian dumplings. They also offer larger, more filling dishes such as chicken Kiev, beef stroganoff, and European whitefish. The interior at Kohvik Moon is elegantly designed with little quirks of Soviet kitsch to help it fit into the cool Kalamaja atmosphere.

Lendav Taldrik

Are you craving Indian food while in Tallinn? Your best bet would be a visit to Lendav Taldrik in Telliskivi Creative City. Lendav Taldrik serves a delicious menu with vegan, vegetarian, and meat options. The samosas are delicious as are the fried paneer appetizers. Also on the menu are main dishes such as curry served with rice and salad.

Pannkoogipubi Kompressor

Pannkoogipubi Kompressor is the best location for a hearty meal if you are traveling on a tight budget. This cafeteria-like restaurant serves massive pancakes with a variety of different fillings, such as ham and cheese. Many of the dishes are 5 EUR or less, making it perfect for a cheap meal. For traveling families, they also have a children’s menu and ample space for a stroller.

Sfaar Restaurant

Sfaar is both a restaurant and a home goods store, so diners can take a browse of its wares while enjoying a tasty meal. Sfaar serves delicious brunch, lunch, and dinner and their dishes are frequently rated among the top 50 in all of Estonia. Tasty and healthy options include hummus with beetroot and goat cheese salad, seasonal whitefish, and chocolate passionfruit cake.

Kohvik Sesoon

Kohvik Sesoon’s menu is packed with healthy and flavorful options, like salads and soups.
