If you’re exploring Antigua’s winding coastline by boat, there’s no shortage of waterside restaurants to stop at. You might be surprised by the variety of spots you can find, including local Caribbean cookouts, internationally-inspired menus and seasonal farm-to-table fare. The places on this list are ideally placed for sailing groups, many with places to dock dinghies and smaller boats right outside at these, the best waterside restaurants in Antigua.

Island Fusion Restaurant

Featuring a blend of International and Afro-Caribbean dishes, the menu at Island Fusion Restaurant is a true fusion of culinary influences. Choose from traditional Antiguan dishes like flavorsome curried goat or opt for whole fried fish, buffalo wings and pizza. This spot is perfectly located at the National Sailing Academy in historic English Harbour on Antigua’s south coast, so easy to access by water and road.

Another English Harbour favorite is the restaurant at South Point boutique hotel. The menu centers on fresh, locally caught seafood and includes a catch of the day option. There’s also a Japanese-inspired sushi bar featuring Asian-accented dishes such as miso soup, sashimi and nigiri. The restaurant deck is well equipped to welcome guests arriving by water with space to tie up dinghies, boats and even paddleboards.

Cecilia’s High Point Cafe

Relaxed and welcoming, this cafe-style restaurant can be found between sandy Dutchman Bay and Winthorpes Bay. Come ashore and enjoy a mix of Scandinavian and Caribbean dishes, like gravlax and beetroot salad, inspired by the owner’s Swedish roots. Pick a table on the white wooden deck and sip cocktails in the shade overlooking palm trees and the beach beyond.

Catherine’s Café

A busy afternoon at Catherines Cafe Plage Restaurant, Pigeon Point, English Harbour Town, Antigua

Located at picturesque Pigeon Beach, close to English Harbour, this cost cafe specializes in so-called “sur la plage” (on the beach) dining. Their menu is designed to compliment the waterfront location with fresh, local produce taking center stage and dishes inspired by Provençal cooking. Head there on the weekend for brunch, bottomless mimosas and live music to make the most of the island atmosphere.

Incanto Restaurant

The Italian chefs at Incanto Restaurant have created a slice of home in the Caribbean, with a menu featuring classic dishes like parmigiana, pesto gnocchi and fresh tuna paccheri pasta. Conveniently located at Antigua Slipway, Incanto Restaurant has space to dock dinghies on the front deck. The restaurant also offers a free dinghy service at Nelson’s Dockyard and Galleon Beach to make it even easier to get your Italian food fix in Antigua.

The Cove Restaurant

Dinner at this stylish restaurant means cliff-top views across Soldiers Bay at St John’s. For a touch of romance, get to your table in time for the sunset and watch the light fade over the water. In the glow of the restaurant, diners can indulge in a menu of French and Caribbean dishes like local cured wahoo fish and seared scallops. Highlights also include the Caribbean passionfruit tart and the restaurant’s signature crepe Suzette, flambéed at your table.

Boom Restaurant & Bar

Surrounded by dense greenery, the evocative Admiral’s Inn is housed in a classic Georgian-style brick building. The hotel’s main restaurant overlooks Nelson’s Dockyard at English Harbour. From this secluded spot, you can imagine the harbour as it would’ve been when the hotel was first built back in the 1780s. The menu is international, featuring a wide range of meat and seafood dishes.

Beach Limerz

Taking inspiration from the slang word Limerz, meaning people who like to hang out and party in a relaxed environment, Beach Limerz lives up to its name. This beachfront hideaway at Fort James Beach is the perfect spot for whiling away an afternoon with good food, music and the ocean right in front of you. Specialities include local dishes like curried conch and food from the grill. Don’t miss the coconut bread pudding with coconut rum sauce, too.
