About your trip
Nestled in the northeastern heights of Italy, the Dolomites stand not just as a geographic borderline between central and southern Europe, but also as an utterly spectacular display of nature’s ability to be at once humblingly epic and spellbindingly beautiful. Craggy peaks are blanketed in snow, alpine lakes practically glow – such is the purity of water – and charming towns snuggle in among the mountains. You don’t have to travel far to discover luscious wine regions and Renaissance cities, either, and we’ll explore all of the above on this eight day tour. From Venice, you’ll be whisked up into the Prosecco Hills and eventually into the Dolomites, where two unforgettable mountain hikes await. Wind down on the shores of Lake Garda, before rounding off the trip into the romantic city of Verona.

Accommodation
Carlton on the Grand Canal
Classic Venetian grandeur is the name of the game at this four-star hotel with an enviable location on the Grand Canal. Renaissance style pastels and striking plaster-work adorn every room, while La Cupola Restaurant and Carlton Cafe offer a range of classic Venetian dishes and drinks. The elegance is ramped up even further at the 4th-floor sky lounge restaurant, which boasts a gorgeous panoramic terrace overlooking the canal.
Villa Argentina Cortina d'Ampezzo
It’s hard to believe that this four-star mountain resort in the heart of the Dolomites was once, around 100 years ago, a humble inn with but a few small rooms. Today it is one of the best places to kick off your walking boots after a day in the mountains. The rooms are cosy, the restaurants delightful and the wide-open surrounding green space means that there are plenty of angles from which to appreciate the hotel’s mountainous backdrop.
Hotel Italia
The many charms of Verona are at the tip of your fingertips at this small city hotel just across the river from the centre of town. All of the city’s main attractions are within a short walking distance, which is ideal for such a lovely strolling city. The rooms are cosy and well-equipped, the breakfast features delicious Italian breads and pastries piled high, while the hotel even has its own small wine cellar – perfect for a little nightcap.
