Discover our pick of the best hotels in Soldeu.
Sport Hotel Hermitage and Spa
Hotel
The Sport Hermitage & Spa is the only five-star hotel situated practically on the slopes of Andorra’s Grandvalira ski resort. Nightly fees include three hours on the water circuit, where you can soothe your ski-weary limbs in hot, warm and cold pools and open-air jacuzzis. During spring and summer, the hotel also provides easy access to Europe’s highest golf course, Soldeu Golf, located at an altitude of 2,250m (7,380ft). Onsite restaurant Koy Hermitage is the Andorran cousin of Barcelona’s Koy Shunka, the Michelin-star creation of Japanese chef Hideki Matsuhisa.
Hotel Naudi Boutique
Boutique Hotel
This adults-only boutique is run by the third generation of Naudis, a family of prominent Andorran hoteliers. Situated 150m (500ft) from the Grandvalira gondola and 2km (1.2mi) from the Incles Valley, it’s well-appointed both for skiers during the winter and hikers throughout the spring and summer. Contemporary accommodation offers either mountain or village views. Ski storage and onsite parking are free, too.
Hotel Piolets Soldeu Centre
Hotel
Directly opposite the Himalaia is its slightly bigger sibling, the 118-room Hotel Piolets. It’s a popular option for families, offering competitively priced suites with both king and single beds, a padded play area for kids and a wellness centre for adults. Massages and beauty treatments are available upon request. After a day spent on the snow, call in at the bar for discounted après-ski drinks, before dining at the in-house pizza joint overlooking the slopes.
Hotel Les Truites
Hotel
The family-run Hotel Les Truites is situated in the resort of El Pas de la Casa, a 20-minute drive south of Soldeu. Josep and his dad will do everything to make you feel at home, such as preparing your breakfast if you have an early-morning flight. Another key draw is its proximity (two minutes on foot) to an indoor sports centre, where everything from basketball to bodybuilding is on offer. Just ask one of the family members to arrange your day pass.
Sport Hotel Village
Hotel
Sport Hotel’s four-star Village is arguably the top choice if you’re travelling to Soldeu as a family. A comprehensive range of daily activities are offered, including hiking and 4×4 excursions for the entire clan, face painting and treasure hunts for the little ones, plus karting and igloo-building for teenagers. For an extra charge, you will also have access to the Sport Wellness Mountain Spa as well as ski guides and lessons. Grandvalira’s main gondola and all of its bars and restaurants are within a short stroll from reception.
Hotel Canaro and Ski
Hotel
Located in the Incles Valley, a few kilometres from the Grandvalira resort, the Canaro is the only hotel in Andorra with its own private slopes for beginners. Equipment rental, ski and snowboard lessons are also available onsite. When you’re not participating in classes, watch other guests fall over as you’re sipping cocktails on the terrace of Tast Bar, which features a crackling open fire and well-stocked library. In-house fine dining is courtesy of the Bon Caliu restaurant.
Euroski Mountain Resort Hotel
Hotel
Suitable as a base for either skiing or trekking, the four-star Euroski is found at the entrance of the Incles Valley, a few minutes’ walk from the El Tarter section of the Grandvalira resort. Outward-looking rooms sleep up to four and are dominated by pure whites and deep blues, mirroring the surrounding landscapes. The slopes and mountains can also be admired through oversized windows in the onsite spa, which contains a heated indoor pool, Finnish sauna and Turkish bath. Breakfast and dinner are served in the basement restaurant.
